Talent @ Nikki Webster Questions & Answers
Q: How Do I Join?A: It is an interview/audition process, by appointment only. Please note that not all children are accepted into the agency. To make an appointment please contact us on 0434 101 554 or email us at info@talentnikkiwebster.com.au
A: You will need to sign all contracts and pay the fees upfront prior to us uploading any casting details onto our website and the AT2 website. We would anticipate your full support to encourage your child's pursuit in joining the agency.
Q: How often will my child need new headshots?
A: Since children grow and change so regularly we would suggest new headshots are taken at least once a year. We will recommend photographers to you and can even be present at the shoot if it makes you feel more comfortable. It can be a fun way for the child to try out new looks and styles and become familiar with being in front of the camera. You are welcome to take pictures yourselves and we can give you examples of the types of headshots recommended.
Q: How do we promote your talent?
A: We promote our talent through a number of mediums. In the first instance we submit your child's photos immediately to Australia’s largest on-line casting service, Artist Technologies (AT2). This secure (privacy protected) service puts our talent right in front of all of the major casting agencies and clients in the advertising & entertainment industries. Similar functionality is also provided through the Talent@Nikki Webster website via our encrypted client login. Our site can be instantly updated as new material becomes available. We will be able to produce tailored, full colour ‘hard copy’ talent books for our key clients as requested. We also promote your child through our internal talent database that is used by our staff for clients who have specific needs.
Q: Is work guaranteed?
A: No. The agency cannot guarantee work as it is the casting agent who selects the children not the agency, we will however make every attempt at submitting our talent for as many appropriate jobs as possible. We will only accept children if we feel they can compete within the industry and they are what our client's are looking for.
Q: Does my child need a Tax File Number?
A: Yes. All children who work will be taxed according to income, with no TFN the child will be taxed at a much higher rate. You must provide us with their TFN when the contract is signed.
Q: What commission does the agency take?
A: Talent @ Nikki Webster will take what the MEAA regulations state 10% - TV/ Film 15%- Musical Theatre 20% Modeling/ Photography
Q: What does my child need to take to a Casting?
A: Each casting may be different and will depend on whether they are required to sing, dance or act. Audition details will be provided prior to each casting allowing the child to prepare in advance. Sometimes material will be given ahead of time by the casting director - your child will always have time to learn all material.
